TeachVault Terms of Service
Last Updated: August 24, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using TeachVault ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User" or "you") and TeachVault ("we," "us," or "our").
2. Description of Service
TeachVault is a mobile application designed to help teachers:
- Manage classes and student information
- Track attendance
- Generate reports and analytics
- Organize schedules and sessions (including timetable import from PDF/CSV/Excel; per-class or global)
- Store supported data locally and create optional backups for the content supported by the current backup format
The App is provided "as is" and we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time.
3. User Accounts and Registration
3.1 Account Creation:
- An independent teacher/account holder must be at least 18 years old. Students may use teacher-directed participant flows such as QR check-in only under the applicable teacher/institution authority and any required parent or guardian consent; those flows do not create an independent teacher account.
- You must provide accurate and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining account security
- You must not share your account credentials
3.2 Account Types:
- Free Plan: Core features including attendance tracking, class management, and basic CSV exports (watermarked). Access to premium themes (beyond the first two), archived classes, and the Schedule tab requires an upgrade.
- TeachVault Pro Mobile Only: Advanced mobile features including unlimited classes, Class Polls (share links and QR for student feedback), advanced analytics, cloud backup options, premium themes, archive, and Schedule tab (one-time purchase on supported mobile store surfaces).
- TeachVault Pro Mobile + Web: Separate pass or subscription offers may include broader cross-device and authenticated portal access for app.teachvault.app, along with web-only or web-extended teacher workflows. The exact available offer, term, and price are the ones displayed on the applicable purchase surface.
Feature availability is determined by your current plan. TeachVault may enforce plan limits in the mobile app, web portal, and related cloud workflows.
3.3 Account Termination:
- You may delete your account at any time
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
- Upon termination, account access and covered TeachVault-managed records may be deleted. The in-app deletion flow clears local database records, preferences/security material, and TeachVault-managed student/attendance-evidence photos; exported/imported documents, separately stored backups, and provider-managed records require separate deletion or follow provider retention.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful purposes
- Obtain necessary consent before entering student information
- Comply with applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, FERPA, etc.)
- Not use the App to store sensitive student data without the required lawful basis, consent, and institutional approval
- Not attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise the App
- Not use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others
- Keep your device secure and protect student data
- Backup important data regularly
You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy of data you enter
- Obtaining parental consent for student data
- Complying with your institution's policies
- Protecting student privacy
5. Intellectual Property Rights
5.1 Our Rights:
- TeachVault owns all rights to the App, including code, design, and trademarks
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works
- The TeachVault name and logo are our trademarks
5.2 Your Rights:
- You retain the rights you lawfully hold in content you create or manage; privacy and data-subject rights remain with the relevant individuals
- You can export supported data using the export features available under your current plan
- You grant us a limited license to process your data to provide the service
6. Paid Features (TeachVault Pro)
TeachVault offers paid access in more than one form:
- TeachVault Pro Mobile Only pricing is shown clearly inside the app and in the store listing
- Mobile-only payments are processed via Apple App Store / Google Play
- TeachVault Pro Mobile + Web may be offered separately through TeachVault-managed web or supported billing surfaces
- Refunds follow the applicable store or payment-provider refund policies
- Mobile-only lifetime purchases unlock the corresponding mobile entitlement subject to verified store ownership; pass/subscription entitlements remain active for the term shown by the applicable purchase provider
7. Data and Privacy
7.1 Your Data:
- You retain the rights you lawfully hold in content you create or manage in the App
- We do not sell your data to third parties
- See our Privacy Policy for detailed information
7.2 Data Storage:
- Local storage: Data stored on your device
- Cloud backup: Optional and user-controlled (Pro feature). New signed-in backup files are encrypted before upload, but current restore depends on secret material held by the originating device.
- Cloud Safety Backup (TeachVault-hosted storage) is provided as a convenience; we may change its availability or per-user limits with reasonable notice. Your backups to your own Google Drive, iCloud, or other third-party storage are not limited by TeachVault.
- You can disable cloud backup and optional cloud-powered workflows where the applicable control is provided. Store/bootstrap and app-security services may still process limited device, network, app, and security metadata.
- Optional cloud-powered features (for example QR attendance realtime sync, collaboration, portal, hosted intake, and public-link workflows) may retain feature content and operational metadata when enabled, as detailed in the Privacy Policy
7.3 Data Security:
- Backup files and selected sensitive fields use application-level AES-256-GCM. The current production release is not comprehensively end-to-end encrypted.
- Optional app lock supports a PIN and, on supported configured devices, biometric authentication
- We may provide security and reliability updates
- However, no system is 100% secure - use at your own risk
8. Prohibited Uses
You may NOT use the App to:
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Infringe on intellectual property rights

- Attempt unauthorized access to our systems
- Scrape or harvest data from the App
- Run extreme automated/bulk workflows intended to bypass fair-use controls
- Impersonate others or provide false information
- Store illegal content or sensitive personal data without lawful basis or required consent
- Interfere with other users' access to the App
Violation may result in immediate account termination and legal action.
8.1 Fair Use and Reliability Guardrails
To protect platform reliability and security, TeachVault may apply operational guardrails such as request limits, payload limits, queueing, or temporary throttling for extreme automated or bulk behavior.
Normal educator usage is expected to remain unaffected. Where feasible, material policy tightening is communicated in advance.
